
Dr. Mei Peng is a lecturer in the Department of Food Science, University of Otago. With a research background in experimental psychology, Mei is interested in sensory, cognitive and behavioural factors driving people’s food choices and intake.
In particular, Mei focuses her research on individual differences in sensory processing and their links to pathological eating behaviours, using both behavioural and neuroimaging techniques.
Mei’s research specialities include: the human olfactory system, sensory neuroscience and psychophysical modelling of sensation and perception.

Hazel Potterton is a Research Assistant in the Departments of Food Science and Psychology, University of Otago. With a background in psychology and mental health, Hazel is interested in women’s health and welfare.
After a number of years travelling, Hazel moved to Dunedin from Ireland in 2017 and loves life in this wonderful city. She especially enjoys working with people. When she is not working in the University, she enjoys reading, travelling, and food.

Professor Paul Glue is Chair of Psychiatry at University of Otago and a consultant psychiatrist at the Southern DHB. He has a wealth of experience working with clients in mental distress, and has a particular interest in peripartum depression.
